National University Academy offers a unique combination of online and site-based coursework that provides a comprehensive educational experience.
All National University Academy courses are designed to meet the California Content Standards for public schools and are taught by highly qualified teachers who are specially trained to provide high quality online instruction.
National University Academy (NUA) consists of four public, tuition-free K-12 charter schools in San Diego, Fresno and Tulare counties and National University Academy, Armona (NUAA). All of the schools provide a rigorous independent study curriculum with the benefit of onsite and online programs that lead to a high school diploma or GED.
National University Academy, San Diego serves 6th - 12th grade students in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties who desire or need an alternative to a traditional brick-and-mortar program. Similarly, students who are in the 6th – 12th grade in Fresno and Tulare counties and contiguous regions are served by National University Academy, Orange Center in Fresno and National University Academy, Tulare. All of the charter schools offer a hybrid curriculum, which allows students to study predominantly online combined with required one-on-one or group sessions with their instructor.
National University Academy San Diego also offers a K-3 academic program known as Sparrow. It is an onsite integrated program that balances a child’s need for intellectual, emotional and creative growth in a developmentally appropriate K – 3 environments.
National University Academy, Armona serves 7th-12th grade students throughout California who are participating in one of our partner programs, such as the California Conservation Corps or Workforce In Action. The curriculum is delivered online and students work individually with instructors to achieve their personalized learning plan.
National University Academy operates approximately 20 learning resource centers and serves just under 1,000 K-12 students.
