National University Academy offers a unique combination of online and site-based coursework that provides a comprehensive educational experience.

All National University Academy courses are designed to meet the California Content Standards for public schools and are taught by highly qualified teachers who are specially trained to provide high quality online instruction.

National University Academy (NUA) consists of five public, tuition-free K-12 charter schools in San Diego, Fresno, Tulare and Sacramento counties and National University Academy, Armona (NUAA). All of the schools provide a rigorous independent study curriculum with the benefit of onsite and online programs that lead to a high school diploma or GED.

National University Academy serves students in over 25 locations throughout central, southern, and northern California. NUA is a tuition-free, WASC-accredited, K-12 public charter school offering middle and high school programs in an independent study format. At NUA, students will be exposed to a unique learning experience that blends online and onsite coursework. Each student will develop a weekly schedule with their fully credentialed teacher to work towards completing their high school diploma, GED, or GED/diploma.

National University Academy San Diego also offers a K-5 academic program known as Sparrow. It is an Independent Study program that balances a child’s need for intellectual, emotional and creative growth in a developmentally appropriate K-5 environment.

The NUA K-8 Homeschool Program which provides a wide range of resources and valuable opportunities to customize a student’s learning experience through Homeschool instruction. Parents and students work with a California Credentialed Teacher to facilitate student learning and achievement

NUA also offers an independent study Dual Language Program for K-8 students. The Dual Language program fosters multicultural and multilingual education by providing an academic experience that facilitates competence in speaking, reading, and writing in both English and Spanish. Students receive direct instruction, participate in cooperative learning activities, projects, and individual learning assignments while mastering both the English and Spanish languages.

National University Academy, Armona serves 7th-12th grade students throughout California who are participating in one of our partner programs, such as the California Conservation Corps or Workforce In Action. The curriculum is delivered online and students work individually with instructors to achieve their personalized learning plan.

NUA Robla whose goal is to become an authorized International Baccalaureate® World Charter School designed to help students develop the intellectual, personal, emotional, and social skills to live, learn, and work in a rapidly changing world will open its doors for grades 7 and 8 in August 2014. NUA Robla will provide students with academic challenge and life skills training achieved through embracing and transcending traditional school subjects.

National University Academy operates approximately 20 learning resource centers and serves just under 1,000 K-12 students.
